About the 3inch Dia Electric Shutoff Butterfly Valve
This three-inch-diameter electric shutoff butterfly valve provides on/off isolation of an air duct in the pneumatic and air management system, opening or closing the line on electrical command without modulating pressure. An electric motor or actuator rotates a disc-shaped butterfly element a quarter turn to seal against the bore or open the passage fully. It is used wherever rapid, commanded isolation of bleed or conditioned air is required. Repair and overhaul are driven by butterfly disc and seat wear and leakage from cyclic seating, electric actuator and motor failure, gear-train and bearing wear causing binding or slow travel, position-switch and limit malfunction, contamination-induced sticking, shaft seal and bushing degradation, and electrical connector deterioration that leads to failure to open or close fully.
