Air to Oil Cooler Repair & Overhaul

FAA & EASA certified air to oil cooler repair and overhaul.

About the Air to Oil Cooler

An air-to-oil cooler is a compact plate-fin or tube-and-fin heat exchanger that rejects heat from circulating lubricating or hydraulic oil into a cooling airstream, maintaining oil within its operating temperature band. Installed where ram, fan, or fan-duct air is available, it stabilizes oil viscosity and protects bearings, gears, and seals from thermal breakdown. Hot oil passes through internal passages while cooling air flows across the external fin matrix, transferring heat by convection. Repair and overhaul are driven by internal-to-external leakage and cracking at brazed or soldered joints from pressure and thermal cycling, external fin damage and corrosion, internal fouling and coking from degraded oil, blockage that restricts oil flow, and loss of cooling effectiveness that allows oil overtemperature.
