Bay Temperature Sensor Repair & Overhaul
FAA & EASA certified bay temperature sensor repair and overhaul.
About the Bay Temperature Sensor
The bay temperature sensor monitors the air temperature within equipment bays and compartments, providing the signal used to manage cooling and to trigger overheat protection for the housed systems. Usually a resistance-based probe such as an RTD or thermistor mounted in an avionics, electronics, or equipment bay, it tracks compartment temperature so controllers can adjust cooling airflow and annunciate overtemperature conditions that could damage equipment. Operating in a vibration- and heat-exposed environment, it is subject to calibration drift, sensing-element degradation with open or short circuits, connector and lead corrosion, contamination and mounting deterioration that slow response, and mechanical damage. Resistance-versus-temperature accuracy testing, along with continuity and insulation-resistance checks, confirms that the sensor reports compartment temperature reliably or identifies it for replacement.
Our Bay Temperature Sensor Repair Capability
QTC repairs and overhauls bay temperature sensor components to the original manufacturer's specifications under our FAA and EASA Part 145 approvals. Our engineers — including former OEM sensors & switches specialists — perform teardown, inspection, cleaning, component replacement, functional and leak testing, and certification, and develop repairs for rejected and beyond-economic-repair (BER) hardware.
