Duct Temperature Sensor Repair & Overhaul
FAA & EASA certified duct temperature sensor repair and overhaul.
About the Duct Temperature Sensor
A duct temperature sensor measures air temperature within the conditioned-air distribution ducting, supplying the temperature signal that environmental control logic uses to modulate mixing and pack outputs and to maintain selected cabin or zone temperatures. It is generally a resistance-based probe such as an RTD or thermistor mounted in the duct wall, with the sensing element exposed to airflow and wired through sealed terminals. Because it operates under continual airflow, vibration, and thermal cycling, its principal degradation modes are calibration drift and resistance error, open or short circuits in the element, insulation deterioration, connector corrosion, and physical probe damage. Inspection commonly reveals out-of-tolerance resistance, intermittent or erratic output, and damaged leads or housings. Repair and overhaul restore element accuracy, electrical integrity, and sealing to ensure dependable temperature sensing.
Our Duct Temperature Sensor Repair Capability
QTC repairs and overhauls duct temperature sensor components to the original manufacturer's specifications under our FAA and EASA Part 145 approvals. Our engineers — including former OEM sensors & switches specialists — perform teardown, inspection, cleaning, component replacement, functional and leak testing, and certification, and develop repairs for rejected and beyond-economic-repair (BER) hardware.
