Oil to Fuel Heat Exchanger Repair & Overhaul
FAA & EASA certified oil to fuel heat exchanger repair and overhaul.
About the Oil to Fuel Heat Exchanger
An oil-to-fuel heat exchanger transfers heat from hot engine or accessory lubricating oil into the fuel stream, simultaneously cooling the oil and warming the fuel to prevent ice-crystal formation, functioning within the heat-transfer system as an oil cooler. Typically of compact tube-and-shell or brazed plate construction, it keeps the two fluids separated while conducting heat across the dividing walls, maintaining oil temperature within limits and conditioning fuel ahead of the engine. Common degradation includes internal fouling from oil varnish and fuel deposits, corrosion, and erosion that reduce heat-transfer effectiveness. The critical failure mode is wall or braze-joint cracking that allows oil-to-fuel cross-contamination, which, along with restricted passages and rising pressure drop, drives leak testing, cleaning, repair, and thermal performance verification.
Our Oil to Fuel Heat Exchanger Repair Capability
QTC repairs and overhauls oil to fuel heat exchanger components to the original manufacturer's specifications under our FAA and EASA Part 145 approvals.
