6" Check Valve Repair & Overhaul
FAA & EASA certified 6" check valve repair and overhaul.
About the 6" Check Valve
A six-inch check valve is a large-diameter one-way flow device installed in a pneumatic duct to permit airflow in a single direction while preventing reverse flow, protecting upstream sources and maintaining duct pressure integrity within the air-management system. Sized for high-volume bleed or distribution ducting, it typically uses a spring-loaded flapper or poppet that opens under forward pressure and seats against backflow. Its check-valve capability isolates branches and prevents cross-feed between pressure sources. Common degradation includes seat and seal erosion causing reverse leakage, flapper hinge wear, spring fatigue or relaxation altering cracking pressure, and corrosion of the body and internal surfaces. Foreign-object damage, sticking due to contamination, and disc fracture from flutter commonly drive inspection, reseating, spring replacement, and flow and leakage testing.
