Air To Oil Temperature Regulator Repair & Overhaul

FAA & EASA certified air to oil temperature regulator repair and overhaul.

About the Air To Oil Temperature Regulator

An air-to-oil temperature regulator controls the cooling air or oil flow through an engine or accessory oil cooler to hold lubricating-oil temperature within limits across varying power and ambient conditions. Listed under pressure-regulating valves in air management, it uses a thermostatic sensing element, often a wax or bimetallic actuator, to modulate a bypass or flow valve, diverting oil around or through the cooler as temperature changes so the oil neither overheats nor stays too cold. Typical degradation includes loss of charge or fatigue in the thermal element, sticking or worn valve and bypass mechanisms, seal hardening and internal leakage, and contamination or varnish buildup that shifts the regulation point. Resulting over- or under-cooling drives element replacement, recalibration, reseal, and functional thermal testing at overhaul.
