Ground Cooling Fan Repair & Overhaul
FAA & EASA certified ground cooling fan repair and overhaul.
About the Ground Cooling Fan
The ground cooling fan provides forced cooling airflow to heat exchangers and equipment when the aircraft is stationary and ram air from forward motion is unavailable. Driven by an electric motor or air motor, the fan and its impeller draw or push air through pack heat exchanger faces and avionics or equipment compartments, maintaining temperature limits during taxi, ground operation, and low-speed flight. It is sized to overcome ducting and core pressure losses while running quietly. Typical degradation includes motor bearing wear, brush or winding deterioration, impeller imbalance from erosion or contamination, blade cracking, and reduced airflow from fouling or worn seals. Vibration, current draw, and airflow checks guide bearing replacement, rebalancing, and overhaul.
