Hydraulic Heat Exchanger Repair & Overhaul

FAA & EASA certified hydraulic heat exchanger repair and overhaul.

About the Hydraulic Heat Exchanger

A hydraulic heat exchanger removes heat from the aircraft hydraulic fluid that accumulates as pumps, actuators, and valves dissipate energy, keeping fluid temperature and viscosity within limits for stable system pressure. Typically a compact fin-and-tube or plate-fin core, it transfers heat from the hot hydraulic circuit to a cooler medium such as fuel or ram air. Continuous thermal cycling and pressure pulsation drive its principal failure modes: internal and external leakage from cracked tubes or brazed joints, fin damage and blockage that reduce thermal efficiency, corrosion, and fatigue at headers and fittings. Inspection commonly reveals weeping seams, contamination fouling, and pressure-drop degradation. Repair and overhaul restore core integrity, leak-tightness, and rated heat-rejection capacity through cleaning, brazing, and pressure proof testing.

Our Hydraulic Heat Exchanger Repair Capability

QTC repairs and overhauls hydraulic heat exchanger components to the original manufacturer's specifications under our FAA and EASA Part 145 approvals. Our engineers — including former OEM heat transfer specialists — perform teardown, inspection, cleaning, component replacement, functional and leak testing, and certification, and develop repairs for rejected and beyond-economic-repair (BER) hardware.
