Reheater Repair & Overhaul

FAA & EASA certified reheater repair and overhaul.

About the Reheater

A reheater is a compact air-to-air heat exchanger within the air-cycle refrigeration loop, working closely with the condenser to manage moisture and improve cooling efficiency. It reheats cold, turbine-discharge air using warmer process air, raising temperature ahead of the condenser so that water vapor condenses effectively and is extracted before reaching the cabin, while recovering energy in the loop. Its primary function is humidity control and thermal staging within the pack. As a brazed plate-fin core, it is subject to fin fouling, internal contamination, corrosion, fatigue cracking, and braze-joint or header leaks that allow cross-leakage between the two air streams. These failures reduce condenser water-extraction performance and pack efficiency, prompting cleaning, leak repair, and overhaul to restore core effectiveness and integrity.

Our Reheater Repair Capability

QTC repairs and overhauls reheater components to the original manufacturer's specifications under our FAA and EASA Part 145 approvals. Our engineers — including former OEM heat transfer specialists — perform teardown, inspection, cleaning, component replacement, functional and leak testing, and certification, and develop repairs for rejected and beyond-economic-repair (BER) hardware.
