Temperature Selector Valve Repair & Overhaul
FAA & EASA certified temperature selector valve repair and overhaul.
About the Temperature Selector Valve
A temperature selector valve sets cabin or zone supply temperature by proportioning flow between hot bleed and cold air-cycle air, blending the two streams to achieve the crew-selected or controller-commanded temperature. Classed as a pneumatic valve in air management, it uses a modulating element such as a butterfly, spool, or proportioning poppet driven by a controller signal, electric actuator, or thermostatic input to vary the hot/cold split. Operating across a wide temperature range, it degrades through actuator and gear wear, butterfly or spool and bearing wear, seal hardening, spring fatigue, and contamination that causes sticking, hysteresis, or hunting, producing poor temperature control or inability to reach setpoint. Overhaul replaces seals and worn dynamic parts, refurbishes the modulating element, recalibrates the actuator, and verifies blend authority and leakage.
