Component Overview

The pressure regulating shut-off valve maintains downstream air pressure at a scheduled value while providing positive shutoff of the supply, combining modulation and isolation in one unit within pneumatic and air management systems. A regulating section senses downstream pressure and modulates the closure element to hold setpoint as demand and supply vary, while a shutoff function fully isolates flow on command or under fault conditions for system protection. Operating under high pressure and temperature, it is subject to seat and seal leakage, actuator diaphragm and spring fatigue, contamination of sensing and reference passages, bearing and shaft wear, and drift in regulated pressure. Out-of-tolerance regulation or incomplete shutoff prompts functional and leakage testing, recalibration, and overhaul of the sealing and regulating components.
