Component Overview

An ejector flow control is a pneumatic device in the air management system that uses a high-pressure primary jet to entrain and pump a secondary air stream, regulating flow and pressure without large moving valve elements. By directing motive bleed air through a nozzle, it induces and controls flow in a venturi or mixing section, supporting functions such as cooling-air augmentation or pressure regulation in the air cycle circuit. Operating in hot, high-velocity service, typical degradation includes nozzle and throat erosion or enlargement that shifts flow scheduling, contamination and carbon buildup restricting passages, corrosion of internal surfaces, and wear or leakage in any associated regulating or shutoff section and seals. These conditions drive flow and pressure calibration, passage cleaning, dimensional inspection, and overhaul to restore correct entrainment performance.
