Component Overview

A turbine inlet control valve regulates the air supplied to the turbine inlet of an air cycle machine, controlling expansion across the turbine and thereby the cooling output of the environmental control pack. By metering inlet flow and pressure it governs turbine speed and discharge temperature, helping maintain target cabin and avionics conditions while protecting the air cycle machine from overspeed. As a pressure-regulating valve in the air management system it sits directly upstream of a rotating cooling component. Repair and overhaul are driven by butterfly or poppet wear, actuator and regulator drift, spring fatigue, seat and seal erosion causing leakage, thermal distortion from high-temperature air, and contamination-induced sticking that destabilize turbine control, degrade cooling performance, or risk improper turbine inlet conditions.

Aircraft Application

Part number 5732C000 (Turbine Inlet Control Valve) is installed on the Dornier 328. QTC supports operators and MROs servicing this platform with certified repair and overhaul.

Our Repair Capability

QTC repairs and overhauls 5732C000 to the original manufacturer's specifications under our FAA and EASA Part 145 approvals. Our team — including former OEM pneumatic & air management engineers — performs teardown, inspection, cleaning, component replacement, functional testing, and certification, returning a serviceable unit with the appropriate airworthiness release. We also develop repairs for rejected and beyond-economic-repair (BER) hardware.
