Component Overview

A low-pressure regulating shutoff valve controls and isolates a relatively low-pressure pneumatic supply, holding downstream pressure to a regulated setpoint while providing commanded shutoff to air-conditioning, pressurization, or anti-ice users. Within pressure-regulating valves, it combines a flow-control element with a pneumatic actuator referenced to a sensing line and a solenoid or pilot for closure, balancing reference pressure against spring force to maintain regulation. Even at lower pressures it sees thermal cycling, vibration, and contamination, degrading through diaphragm and bellows fatigue, valve and seat wear, spring relaxation that shifts the setpoint, solenoid and seal deterioration, and fouling that causes regulation drift, sluggish response, leakage, or failure to seal. Overhaul restores the actuation and sensing elements, replaces seals and springs, recalibrates the regulation band, and verifies shutoff and leakage.
