Our Ozone Converters Repair Process
QTC evaluates the ozone converter against its catalytic performance requirements, inspecting the housing, the catalyst substrate, and the air-path interfaces for contamination, fouling, damage, and signs of efficiency loss. The unit is cleaned as appropriate, and the casing and mounting features are checked for integrity and leak-tightness.
Where the catalyst no longer meets conversion requirements, the converter is recharged or its catalytic element is restored or replaced so that ozone conversion efficiency is re-established. After this catalytic restoration, the unit is reassembled and functionally verified to confirm acceptable conversion performance and airflow before being returned to service with the appropriate airworthiness certification. Because performance hinges on the catalyst rather than moving parts, efficiency verification is central to the overhaul rather than balancing or rotating-component work.
